Raped woman - two police officers not to undertake polygraph-test

Two out of the five police officers accused of raping a young woman at the beginning of May said they would not undertake a polygraph-test. Out of the three incoming statements, only one officer would agree to take the test, if asked, Attila Morvai, spokesman of the Budapest Public Prosecution told the Independent News Agency (FH).

According to Hungarian law, only a person who agrees can be asked to take a polygraph-test, and the court will decide, whether the results will be used or not.

Attila Morvai, told the Independent News Agency that the DNA test has not been concluded yet, a result can be awaited on Thursday or Friday at the earliest.

The DNA test will answer questions such as whether the clothes of the woman show signs of sperm or hair that can be connected to the officers and whether the girl really sat in the police car. The results will be analyzed together with the statements made so far.

The Pest District Court has put the five policemen of REBISZ in preliminary detention on May 19. All suspects claim not to have raped the 21-year-old woman.
